San Diego Padres superstar shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. has been sidelined for the entire 2022 MLB season so far with a fractured wrist. Even with the injury, the 23-year-old phenom is still currently ranked fifth among shortstops in All-Star Game votes. This has, once again, made media and fans alike wonder out loud if the All-Star selection process is inherently flawed. Given that Tatis is unlikely to be voted into the 2022 ASG, there likely won’t be much change coming to the system, but if nothing else, players who have yet to suit up for at least one game should be left off the ballot in the future.
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. No matter when he returns, Tatis’s 2022 season is not going to match his 2021 output, when he had 42 dingers, the most in the NL. So with that in mind, how many of the players who had the most home runs for every MLB team in 2021 can you name in five minutes?
