After a fraught and tightly contested week, we have finally narrowed down our field of sixteen to two thunderous finalists. It’s been a long and difficult road to get here, with painstaking upsets and razor-thin margins of victory. But now, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. For those of you that have been following along with the Bat Flip THUNDERDOME since it kicked off on Monday, pat yourselves on the back. We wouldn’t be here without your hand-wringing decisions and gutsy calls. For those of you that are joining us for the first time today, welcome! You can get caught up on the previous three days of the tournament here:
And, for the last time this year, here’s the championship bracket!
Here. We. Go. Brian Goodwin faces off against the defending THUNDERDOME Champion in Fernando Tatis Jr., and it’s sure to be a doozy. Goodwin and his mammoth flip have flown above and beyond the competition through this point in the tourney, and have but one more height to reach. But, to beat the champ you’ve gotta knock him out, and few hitters in the game can challenge Fernando Tatis Jr. in a battle of hype. Tatis struts into the ring with weighted gloves of his own, and a stadium-rocking bat flip to match. Will the reigning champ keep his crown? Or will the challenger rise up to take his place? Only you can say for sure. Decide the 2021 THUNDERDOME Championship below!
As we reach the end of our journey, I’d like to thank everyone who has followed along with the series this year. Be sure to check back in again each week next season, where we will once again rank the best bat flips of each week here on Pitcher List. Until then, be sure to support your favorite finalist here in the comments below, and on Twitter.
See you soon.
