Baseball Prospectus Contributor Call – Baseball ProspectusBaseball Prospectus

Baseball Prospectus needs your help! In the coming months, we are charting an ambitious growth path to significantly upgrade several areas of the BP site and customer experience. In support of these efforts, we are looking for assistance in a variety of areas to help build BP’s future.

We’re looking for folks that have experience or training in the following areas:

  • Software engineering, especially: Python (Django), JavaScript (Vue), SQL, and/or R
  • Data management (ETL, API development, visualization)
  • WordPress development and administration
  • Marketing, social media, and brand partnerships

There is no minimum time commitment to be part of our contributor community, and we welcome your application even if you can only offer a few hours of work per week. However, please be aware: while we are delighted to work with you to match our needs with your availability, we will set and maintain expectations for delivering work on a consistent basis.

We welcome contributions from professionals and students alike, and we compensate all of our contributors for their work.

We offer monetary compensation for all work performed. We do our best to offer compelling pay (alongside a free all-access BP subscription!) but we are proudly a lean, subscriber-supported organization, and we’ll be honest: if you’re not excited to be part of the BP contributor community independent of the pay, this is unlikely to be the right fit for you.

For students, we are also excited to work with your educational institution to offer course credit in exchange for contribution to BP. Though we can’t guarantee that your institution would be prepared to recognize BP projects for credit, we know that many schools are open to recognizing curriculum-relevant outside work toward a degree.

If you’re interested to discuss further how you might be a part of BP’s next generation, please shoot us an e-mail at [email protected]. Include an updated CV/resume and, in the body of your e-mail, a brief statement of your interest in BP and how you think you might want and be able to contribute.

We look forward to hearing from you and we thank you for your support as we endeavor to deliver the best baseball analytics content around.
